September 23rd, 2011: Hello Runners! A few more announcements:

Marathon Photos - Marathon-Photos.com will be providing race photographs for the 3rd year in a row! They will have photographers along the course capturing your exciting moments. You will be able to find your photos 24-48 hours after the completion of the event by searching with your bib number or name. Be sure to check for your photos after the event here.

Parking Passes - You do not need parking passes this year. We have been notified of conflicting information in our race brochure and on the website and apologize for the confusion.

Rain or Shine - Just a reminder the race will go on rain or shine. See you Sunday!
September 21st, 2011: Greetings Runners! As we are approaching race day we wanted to get some information out there...

- NEW Course Map! (click here)
- The race course has been slightly adjusted to try and alleviate a bottle neck as you run past the starting line after mile #1. This course is a USATF Certified race course - VA10101RT.
- Driving Directions (click here)
- If you are driving and planning to park in the North Parking Lot of the Pentagon we encourage you to arrive no later than 7:00am due to road closures. This year you do not need a parking pass.
- Packet Pick-up
- Packet pick-up is at Road Runner Sports in Falls Church, VA on
- Friday September 23rd, 2011 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm
- Saturday September 24th, 2011 from 10:00am to 3:00pm
- Runners will receive their bib number, event shirt and technical shirt if you purchased one. You are encouraged to pick-up at Road Runner Sports however if you are unable to make it Friday or Saturday pick-up will be available on race-day. We recommend you leave plenty of time to arrive, pick-up your packet and prepare to run.
- If you purchased a technical shirt you will be able to pick it up at packet pick-up. We will have your name on a list to confirm you made the purchase. Technical shirts will not be sold at packet pick-up. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt after registration has closed please email navy5miler@gmail.com.
- A virtual packet will be sent out via email after the race.

August 15th, 2011: The Navy 5 Miler is providing the option to purchase a technical shirt this year for $20. Click here to take a peek. It is a Zorrel short sleeve (men's - Z1050, women's - Z5053), 100% microfiber polyester, Syntrel Extreme Moisture Transport Technology shirt, color is Team Yellow. For those who decide to order a technical shirt you will be able to pick-up your technical shirt at packet pick-up. This will not replace the complimentary shirt all participants will receive for registering. Supplies are limited, so don't wait. Click here to purchase.
March 31st, 2011: The Navy 5 Miler is excited to announce the opening of online registration at www.navy5miler.com on April 3rd, 2011. The 8th Annual event will take place on Sunday September 25th, 2011 at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA at 8:00am. It is being presented by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] for the fifth straight year and is expected to fill up quickly. Click here to view the full press release.

September 3rd, 2010: There is a new USATF certified (VA-10049-RT) race course for the 2010 Navy 5 Miler! We have listened to the suggestion of runners and were able to remove the long incline on Route 27-N heading toward I-395. Please click here to see the certified course map. We will be putting another version of the map online as soon as it is ready. A second version has been posted - click here.
August 20th, 2010: The Navy 5 Miler is excited to announce the first ever Pre-Race Social on Wednesday September 22nd, 2010 at the Hampton Inn, National Harbor from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. It is going to be a blast with The Great Train Robbery playing classical rock as you load up on great food from Mamma Lucia at College Park and beverages from Pepsi. There will also be giveaways for those who participate in the night's activities. This is a great intimate atmosphere for sponsors, race participants, volunteers and race coordinators to network. There are only 250 tickets, so don't wait until the last minute. We hope to see you there!

August 12th, 2010: Calling all volunteers! Volunteers play a key role in making the Navy 5 Miler a success. Register as a volunteer and learn the Navy values of Honor, Courage and Commitment while enjoying the excitment of the event. See the Volunteer Page for more information and to register.
